Remember the La Vie Shopping Center? Located on Rua Fernandes Tomás, for 16 years it was a shopping center in the heart of the city city of Porto. However, after being sold, his future promises to take a different direction.
According to a press release quoted by the “Eco” website, the former shopping center will be converted into a business hub, with the aim of attracting local and international companies looking for office and/or retail space.
According to the same source, the “Heart of Porto” project will cover 30,000 square meters as a result of an investment of around 52 million euros by Tikehau Capital.
It seems that the reopening is expected to take place in 2026. In this way, the focus of the future building promises to be different from the previous commercial and leisure essence.
Even so, Porto Canal reports that the space in the former Shopping La Vie should have complementary offers in the retail and wellness sectors.
Reminiscent of the old Shopping La Vie
Located in the center of Porto, just a few minutes’ walk from the Bolhão Market, shopping La Vie opened in 2007. For 16 years, it has stood out for its wide range of services, including stores and entertainment options.
However, with the sale of the building in 2023, the future promises to be different. In other words, it will undergo a significant transformation with the aim of embracing the world of innovation and technology as a business hub.
