A new bell is ringing in Porto. Manteigaria is opening a new bakery at Largo de São Domingos, marking the brand’s fourth location in the city—following Bolhão, Clérigos , and Rua de Santa Catarina—and promising the same time-honored ritual: warm, crispy pastéis de nata, fresh out of the oven in full view of passersby.
A bakery in plain sight
Just as in all of the brand’s other stores, the new bakery at Largo de São Domingos allows customers to watch the entirely artisanal pastel de nata production process from start to finish. It is this transparency—seeing the master pastry chefs’ hands at work in real time—that has been one of Manteigaria’s most recognizable hallmarks since its founding in 2014.
What will you find at the location?

In addition to fresh-from-the-oven pastéis de nata, the new location serves traditional coffee, Port wine, ginja, capilé, and other café beverages. For those who prefer to take them home or give them as gifts, takeout boxes are available , and the brand’s pastéis de nata can also be ordered through the UberEats platform.
A brand that’s no longer confined to Portugal alone
Manteigaria was founded in 2014 in Chiado, Lisbon, in a 1900s building with an Art Nouveau façade that once belonged to the former Manteigaria União —hence the brand’s name. More than a decade later, the brand’s expansion has come a long way: with this new bakery, the brand now has four locations in Porto, twelve in Lisbon, one in Braga, and another in Cascais, in addition to an international presence in Madrid, Paris, Bordeaux, Macau, and Hong Kong.
