Spring hasn’t arrived yet, but it’s already beginning to herald its arrival with initiatives such as the Almond Blossom Route or the traditional Porto Camellia Exhibition.
On its way to its 29th edition, the event dedicated to one of Porto ‘s most cherished flowers will take place on the first weekend of March, on the 1st and 2nd, in the gardens of Parque de São Roque.
As in previous years, the Porto Camellia Exhibition, organized by Porto City Council in partnership with the Portuguese Camellia Association, offers activities for the whole family.
The first day of the Camellia Exhibition
In a statement sent to Porto Secreto, the organization said that the official opening is scheduled for 2pm on Saturday, March 1, followed by the usual prize-giving ceremony.
As part of the competition, “the best camellia of Portuguese origin, the best species and the best table ornamentation/flower arrangement” will be awarded.

In addition, there are other activities, such as Persil Noir’s itinerant animation (14:30) and a workshop-tour by Explorador Florentino (16:00), in Parque de São Roque.
