Although many of the stores are open this Wednesday (Christmas Eve), the truth is that the scenario is quite different on the December 25th holiday. Also, before you go to any supermarket, check the opening times with the official media to avoid any ‘surprises’.

Auchan
In information provided to Porto Secreto, Auchan informs that this Wednesday (Christmas Eve) most stores will close at 5pm.
Lidl
According to Lidl‘s official website, the doors of its stores are open this Wednesday (December 24) until 6pm and closed on December 25.
Continente
In Continente stores, opening hours are until 6pm this Wednesday (December 24), and on the Christmas holiday the supermarkets are closed.
Mercadona
The Spanish food chain that has won over the Portuguese closes early on Christmas Eve, at 7pm, and is closed on December 25th.
Pingo Doce
Pingo Doce stores will be open until 6pm on December 24 and closed on Christmas, with the following exceptions:
- Campo Pequeno – until 7pm
- Santarém Shopping – until 7pm
- Olivais Shopping – until 7pm
- Alvalade – until 7pm
- Viseu Fórum – until 5pm
Aldi
Like the other supermarket chains, Aldi stores have special opening hours during the festive season. As such, on December 24th they are open from 8am to 6pm and closed on December 25th.
