The Christmas season is almost upon us and this Saturday, November 30, the lights officially go on in Porto. At the same time, there’s another initiative that promises to bring smiles to kids and adults alike: the return of the historic Christmas Tram.
From December 1 until January 6, 2025, the iconic vehicle will circulate in the city of Porto. More specifically, the trips will take place:
- On line 1, between Infante and Passeio Alegre, on Sundays and Mondays, with the first trip starting at 9:00 and the last at 20:10;
- On line 18, between Carmo and Passeio Alegre, from Tuesday to Saturday, the first trip starts at Clérigos at 9.45 a.m. and the last at 7.30 p.m.
Christmas streetcar painting by Albergues do Porto
For this year’s Christmas season, the historic Christmas Tram was painted by users of the Albergues do Porto, but also by two of the city’s well-known urban artists,Heitor Correâ and Oaktree.
The result of this partnership will also give rise to an exhibition, the opening of which is scheduled for December 5 at 5:30pm at Alberg’ART, the art gallery of the Albergues do Porto.

- €3.5 for children
- 6€ for adults
- Two trips on the same day for adults cost 8€
- Two-day tickets cost €6 for children and €12 for adults
