Cemeteries are associated with flowers, mourning and longing for the departed. However, they are also synonymous with rich heritage, especially in Invicta. That’s why the municipality is promoting the XV Cultural Cycle of the Cemeteries of Porto.
According to information on the municipality’s website, the initiative kicks off on the first Saturday in May, the 3rd, at 11am, at the Prado do Repouso Cemetery. In all, the cultural cycle includes 10 guided tours until September, including the Agramonte Cemetery.
The two sites mentioned above have been recognized as Monumental Cemeteries since 2005. In this context, the aim is to contemplate their most emblematic monuments and sculptures, as well as to ‘discover’ the main historical figures buried there.
