For those who are fans of the Seventh Art, there is good news: the return of the Cinema Festival, from October 21 to 23. The 11th edition of the initiative once again offers tickets for 2D screenings for just €3.5 at any of the participating cinemas.
In all, more than 40 films of all genres, including national and international works, will be shown in more than 500 cinemas from the north to the south of Portugal, not forgetting the Autonomous Regions of Madeira and the Azores. This way, cinephiles and others can enjoy a good evening out.

Some films in the spotlight
After its success in May, the Festa do Cinema returns with ‘jump’ prices, so that everyone can enjoy the best of the Seventh Art.
Among the dozens of films covered by this initiative, we highlight the following:
- “Joker: Madness for Two”;
- “Smile 2
- “Megalopolis;
- “The Apprentice – The Trump Story”
- “Wild Robot
- “All the Time We Have”, among many others.
The participating cinemas
As we mentioned earlier, this campaign is only valid for 2D screenings. In this sense, films shown in 3D, IMAX, 4DX, Screen X, sessions for VIP seats and/or other special events cannot be combined or covered by this initiative.
Now that you have that in mind, it’s important to know which cinemas are participating, right? As we mentioned, there are more than 500 cinemas from the north to the south of Portugal where you can ‘devour popcorn’ while watching a good movie for just €3.5. These are some of the cinemas that are participating:
- Cinebox Cinemas
- UCI Cinemas
- Cineplace
- NOS Cinemas
- Castello Lopes Cinemas
- Cinemax
- Algarcine Cinemas
- Cinema Ideal, among others.
Who promotes the Film Festival?
This initiative is the responsibility of the Portuguese Association of Cinematographic Companies (APEC), with the support of several other organizations.
The Festa do Cinema started in 2015 with the aim of democratizing and promoting public access to watching films in the cinema, and is held every year, except in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
