In summer, astronomical phenomena intensify even more and it’s the perfect time to observe them, particularly due to the better weather conditions that favor their contemplation. And this Thursday, the 10th, comes the spectacular Full Moon of the Deer.
According to the website “Meteored. Tempo.” website, the Full Moon of the Deer will reach its apogee at 9.37 p.m. (time in mainland Portugal and the Autonomous Region of Madeira, one hour less in the Autonomous Region of the Azores).

What is the origin of its name?
The July full moon is known as the Full Deer Moon, as it coincides with the time of year when the young of this animal species begin their development; a name that is intrinsically linked to the traditions of the indigenous peoples of North America.
In addition to this name, there are other names used to designate this phase of the lunar satellite, such as the Midsummer Moon or the Thunder Moon. Do you feel like capturing this phenomenon with your camera?
