After the success of the Lisbon edition in May, Iberanime is back in Greater Porto for a full weekend at Exponor (Matosinhos). From October 12 to 13 (Saturday and Sunday), the biggest Japanese pop culture event promises to attract many visitors.
The program is varied and wide-ranging, making it possible to get to know various aspects of Japanese culture. For this reason, the space will have areas for karaoke, dancing, manga, noodle contests, gaming, concerts and much more.
Highlights of Iberanime Porto 2024
In this true themed party for audiences of all ages, there are several attractions and moments to highlight. For example, the premiere of the American documentary “Alter Egos” on October 13.
Other eagerly awaited moments are the J-Rock and J-Pop concerts: on October 12 (Saturday), MION will take to the stage at 18:45; on October 13 (Sunday), the band Snowkel will have everyone singing the opening theme of Natura season 7 at 17:45.
As in previous editions, cosplay competitions will play a key role in Iberanime’s program. The World Cosplay Summit and the Cosplay World Masters are back to choose the Portuguese representatives abroad.
You can also experience a real “Japan Arcade Experience”, a retrogaming and arcade zone. At the same time, there are various themed workshops dedicated, for example, to creating statues, bonsai trees and holsters for accessories.
But that’s not all. Iberanime also has moments dedicated to traditional Japanese culture, such as martial arts exhibitions, reiki workshops and Japanese calligraphy, among others. Are you planning to travel to Japan without leaving Porto?
