This Sunday only, August 30, the final “Vizinhanças” event of the year brings 9 hours of theater, concerts, and free workshops to Pasteleira Park

The Porto-based “Vizinhanças” entertainment series comes to an end next Sunday, August 30, with a final session at Parque da Pasteleira, in the Union of Parishes of Lordelo do Ouro and Massarelos.

Throughout the summer, the program turned Sundays into days for getting together in the city’s public spaces, with activities designed for all ages and completely free of charge.

The day begins with an introductory rugby session organized by CDUP, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and a story time led by Joana Teixeira at 11 a.m. At 3 p.m., the Folklore Group from Infante D. Henrique High School takes the stage for a performance dedicated to Portuguese folk traditions.

At 4 p.m., the Pé de Vento theater company presents *O Lugar Desconhecido*, a play directed by Joana Teixeira that explores a space where, according to the synopsis, “love arrives in full force.” The musical finale will be provided by the duo ben&G, an emerging project from Greater Porto that blends pop and hip hop, with a concert scheduled for 6 p.m.

In the afternoon, starting at 5 p.m., Indian performer and choreographer Kritika Thakur will lead an open workshop on Bollywood dance.

Between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., Engenho e Arte welcomes anyone interested in trying their hand at contemporary jewelry-making in the “Jeweler for a Day” activity. From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Espaço T hosts “O Chapim das Histórias,” an art workshop for children and families.

The Porto Museum and Libraries will participate with three initiatives: a botanical tour of the Reservatório guided by Luís Alves (11 a.m.), the “Archaeological Puzzle” workshop at the Reservatório Archaeology Library (3 p.m.), and a guided tour of the interior of the Reservatório at 4 p.m.

Traditional games will be available throughout the day in partnership with the Silveirinhos Social Association, and from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., bike rides for seniors will take place as part of the “Pedalar Sem Idade” initiative.
