
If you think theme parks are all about swimming pools and water slides, you’re wrong. In Penafiel, about a 30-minute drive from Porto, Magikland offers attractions and fun for all ages, both in and out of the water.
According to the official website, the park officially opens its doors on April 13 and will remain open until September, although with some limitations during the low season. But what’s so special about Magikland? What can you expect to find there?

Six themed areas and lots of attractions
In all, Magikland’s area is estimated to occupy around 7 hectares, covering six different themed areas that promise to provide fun moments.
They are as follows:
- Africa – where you can go on safari in little Dakar trucks, fly over in airplanes and slide down the waters of the Magik Splash
- World of Confusion – a trip to Paris without leaving Portugal, where you can walk the streets of the French capital and take photos with a miniature Eiffel Tower
- Medieval Village – the perfect themed area for those who love time travel, with a castle and princess tower
- Pirates’ Refuge – a giant boat stands out among the lagoons
- Far West – a setting reminiscent of the American ‘Old West’, including a water carousel and a roller coaster
- Souk – an Arab market reserved for special occasions such as birthday parties.

This themed space is one of the best known in the Porto district, but it also deserves a place on the list of water parks because of the pools and slides where you can cool off on hot days.
According to NIT, in 2024 Magikland opened two slides: a 10-meter slide for children and an 80-meter slide for adults. In addition, the park has several green areas perfect for escaping the sun.
In addition to the themed areas and attractions, the space has bars and a self-service restaurant where you can have light and/or full meals. Also noteworthy is the ” Cantinho das Guloseimas ” – a treat for the sweet tooth.
How much does it cost to enter this park?
According to the official website, entry is free for children up to the age of three. However, here is a summary of the prices charged:
- From 4 to 12 years old: 13€
- From 13 to 64 years old: 21€
- From 65 to 75 years old: 16€
- 76 and over: free
Tickets can be purchased online, which is particularly recommended during the high season to avoid long queues.
How to get to Magikland from Porto?
If you live in Porto, Magikland is approximately 35 kilometers away . If you prefer to travel by car, take the A4 and exit at Penafiel Sul.
There are train connections between Porto and Penafiel. However, after that, you’ll need to walk the rest of the way (which can take around 55 minutes), or take complementary transportation.
