After we reported on the latest air routes to Split (Croatia) and Recife (Brazil), there’s more news on offer at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport. It seems that from 2026, Porto will have new direct flights to New York.
The news was reported by Jornal de Notícias (JN), which quotes the president of Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal (TPNP), Luís Pedro Martins. According to the sources, Invicta will have direct connections to John F. Kennedy International Airport, via Delta Air Lines, as early as next year.
US tourism on the rise
According to the president of the TPNP, quoted by JN , “tourism from the USA is in fact growing in the country”, and is “already the second market” in the Porto and Norte region, just after Spain.
Luís Pedro Martins also pointed out that in 2019, the North American market was only in sixth or seventh position, justifying this growth by carrying out numerous external promotion actions.
