Have you noticed the new green space that is changing the landscape of Ramalde? Located between Senhora do Porto and Santa Luzia streets, a ‘natural barrier’ to the visual presence of buildings has been created, which also serves as a space for leisure and relaxation, including a playground where children can play. We are referring to the recently inaugurated Senhora do Porto Garden.
Since January 16 (Friday), this green lung has been officially open to the public, covering an area of around 5,000 square meters, where you can finddrinking fountains, benches, raised green areas, an area for a community garden, as well as a slide, swing, and beam, serving as a meeting point for different generations of Porto residents.
A sustainable project for everyday life

The project, which began a year ago, represented a municipal investment of €784,000 and has both infrastructural and environmental aspects . In this regard, one of the technical highlights is the sustainable drainage system, consisting of infiltration basins that assist in rainwater management.
In addition, another key point is related to the widening of the pedestrian zone next to Rua de Santa Luzia, aimed at facilitating pedestrian traffic. It should also be noted that the Jardim da Senhora do Porto was the result of an express desire of the population of Ramalde, converting a vacant lot into a space for all ages.
