After Christmas, we’re already counting down to the last night of 2024. That’s why Porto City Council has prepared a special (and free) program.
Fireworks, an audiovisual show and several concerts, divided into two stages, promise to delight all Porto residents and visitors as they enter the New Year with lots of excitement.

New Year’s Eve concerts
The musical moments are concentrated at two different points: Avenida dos Aliados and the Palácio de Cristal Gardens. Rui Veloso, Nuno Ribeiro and Branko are some of the confirmed names. But let’s get to know the official calendar.
Avenida dos Aliados
On Avenida dos Aliados, next to one of the most beautiful Christmas trees in Greater Porto, the party kicks off at 10pm to the sound of 16-year-old talent Nuno Ribeiro.
After midnight, it’s the turn of one of the biggest names in Portuguese music to take to the stage on Avenida dos Aliados: Rui Veloso, the ‘father of Portuguese rock’, promises to revisit some of the greatest hits of his career.
Crystal Palace
In the area of the Palácio de Cristal, whose gardens are among the best in the world, the night begins at 10pm to the rhythm of rapper Julinho KSD. After the entrance in 2025, producer Branko takes over.
Dancing to DJs
To end the night on a high note,two DJ sets are scheduled : one by Carolina Torres, at Avenida dos Aliados, and Sónia Trópicos, at Palácio de Cristal. Admission is free to both venues.
Fireworks on New Year’s Eve (and beyond)
As with any celebration, the fireworks display is one of the most eagerly awaited moments. This year, it will be accompanied by musical and multimedia elements as part of the “Circle of Light” project by Grandpa’s Studio.
On New Year’s Eve, January 1, Avenida dos Aliados will once again be the focus of attention with the traditional New Year’s Concert by the Portuguese Symphonic Band.
