In summer it is common to see incredible astronomical phenomena, such as the Deer Full Moon. However, the list of events is far from limited to the phases of the lunar satellite. If you like looking at the sky, then get ready, because the Perseids have arrived.
According to star Walk this is considered the best meteor shower of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The phenomenon is visible from July 17 to August 24. But when will be the peak of activity be? And what are the best places to observe them?

What are the Perseids?
The Perseids are a meteor shower associated with comet 109/Swift-Tuttle, discovered in the 19th century. XIX.
Every year, it leaves a trail of debris that burns up as it enters the Earth’s atmosphere, generating a luminous effect commonly known as ‘shooting stars’.
When do you see peak activity?
According to the star Walk the peak of the Perseids is scheduled for the night of August 12-13.
In good weather conditions, it may be possible to observe 100 meteors per hour.
Where to watch the Perseids?
Visible in Portugal, the brightness of the Perseids reaches a higher intensity far from light pollution, particularly in rural areas or mountainous zones.
