Porto’s music scene is definitely heating up, with concert announcements and festival confirmations multiplying across the region. Following Sigur Rós, there is now another hot name that promises to thrill alternative rock fans : Placebo is back in Portugal, with two concerts in Porto at the Super Bock Arena (September 28) and in Lisbon at Sagres Campo Pequeno (September 29).
Nostalgia is the right word to describe the new “Placebo 30th Anniversary Tour,” which celebrates the 30-year career of the band led by Brian Molko. Known for their androgynous aesthetic and sound that blends glam-rock with punk, the British band promises a trip down memory lane: the focus will be on the acclaimed albums “Placebo” (1996) and “Without You I’m Nothing” (1998), bringing back anthems that haven’t been played live in over two decades.
