Those living in Greater Porto are being affected by the effects of the heavy rainfall, which was felt especially in the early hours of Friday, October 31. This is because many incidents related to the bad weather have been recorded . In the district of Porto, the orange warning remains in place until 12 noon.
According to information from the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), there were 68 incidents, 57 of which were in the Porto Metropolitan Area, between midnight and 7am. Most of these were flooding of public roads and structures.

The most critical situations
Several media outlets reported some critical situations in Porto, with special emphasis on Avenida AEP and VCI-Via de Cintura Interna.
The most critical situation was on the VCI, near the Boavista exit (Arrábida-Freixo). On this road, which is managed by Infraestruturas de Portugal, the accumulation of water caused the road to become blocked, with several vehicles affected,” reads the Porto City Council’s news portal.
IPMA’s forecasts
The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) predicts that heavy rain will continue this Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1.
According to the IPMA, quoted by “SIC Notícias”, there are three districts on high alert (red) until 12 noon: Viseu, Aveiro and Coimbra. Bragança, Porto, Vila Real, Guarda, Viana do Castelo, Leiria and Braga are under an orange warning, which should change to yellow by 3pm on Saturday.
