The beaches
We can’t talk about Esposende without mentioning its magnificent beaches. There are around 18 km of beaches with blue flags, some of which have been awarded the “Golden Quality” seal by Quercus, such as the beaches of Fão and Ofir, for example.
One of Esposende’s best-known beaches is Praia da Apúlia, which is surrounded by good restaurants for a snack after a dip in the sea.
Nautical activities on the river
As we’ve already said, Esposende is a municipality blessed with sea and river, and the excitement doesn’t stop at the salt water. You can also venture out onto the river and try various nautical activities, such as kitesurfing, for example.
Hiking
If you’re more into (or prefer) land-based activities, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s no shortage of hiking tra ils. As well as believing that you get to know any place better on foot, in Esposende this is something special and traditional.
Visit the Litoral Norte Natural Park on foot or by bike, explore the city and, above all, have fun and enjoy the landscape and nature.
Clarinhas
Also known as Clarinhas de Fão, this is the region’s typical sweet and the sweet tooth will not be indifferent to it. These pastries are filled with gila jam and eggs and are a real treat that must be tasted by anyone who goes to these parts.
Many places to visit
Esposende has a beach, Esposende has a river, Esposende has sweets and good food to offer, and it also has many places to visit and learn a little more about the culture of the municipality and the country.
In addition to the Casa Museu Viana de Lima – Casa das Marinhas, we also recommend a visit to the Torre da Memória of the Esposende Maritime Museum. You can’t miss the Municipal Museum or the São João Batista Fort.
But the places of interest don’t stop there. There are many others, which we challenge you to discover in order to learn more about the history and culture of the municipality of Esposende.
