Vigo is one of the most famous Christmas destinations on the Iberian Peninsula and is just a 1h30 drive from Porto. Every year, the Galician city surprises with the spectacular size of its lights, which is why many Portuguese want to go there. To facilitate access to this magical destination, Rede Expressos is promoting trips at promotional prices.
According to the bus company’s officialwebsite, between November 15 and January 10, 2026, a promotional campaign is available with departures from Porto, Porto Airport, Valença, Ponte de Lima and Braga, to Vigo, for just €19.50 (round trip, same day).
The streets light up, the squares fill with joy and there’s always something new to discover, traditional markets full of typical sweets, ice rinks, carousels, surprising decorations and, of course, the famous giant Christmas tree that enchants all generations,” reads the Rede Expressos website.
Highlights of Christmas in Vigo
Vigo is the perfect Christmas destination for a trip with family, friends or even a romantic getaway. This year, the Galician city has once again exceeded expectations with around 12 million LED lights spread over more than 460 streets and squares, a figure higher than in 2024.
It also surprised us with more than 7,000 decorative elements, including 1,400 garlands. As you walk around Vigo, it’s impossible not to notice the tunnels, the lights, the giant 45-meter Christmas tree, the nine-and-a-half-meter star and much more.
