Summer is the time for historical re-enactments par excellence and, although it’s almost over, you still have time to visit some themed events without leaving Greater Porto. After the “Hospitallers on the Way to Santiago”, one of the largest initiatives of its kind in the Porto Metropolitan Area, you can now travel back in time at the Rio Tinto Medieval Fair.
Set in Quinta das Freiras, in the parish of Rio Tinto (Gondomar), just a few minutes from Porto, the XIV Rio Tinto Medieval Fair promises entertainment for kids and adults alike. For four days, from September 18 to 21, the event depicts the Middle Ages, inspired by the legend of the Infanta D. Mafalda.
