Slides and waterfalls, the attractions and possibilities for fun are many at water parks. In fact, this can be an excellent alternative for those who want to make the most of the summer but prefer to stay away from the beaches.
Most of these water parks are about an hour away from Porto. So you can take advantage of this for a short weekend getaway, or take a dip on your vacation.

Amarante Water Park

Open since May 30, the Amarante Water Park, known as the ‘largest mountain water park on the Iberian Peninsula’, has some new features for the 2025 bathing season that promise to delight kids and adults alike.
In all, there are more than 16 water attractions, VIP cabins with exclusive services, a new barbecue bar and the recently opened Pirate Island, which is aimed at children. In addition, there are green spaces and accommodation at Aldeia do Tâmega.

Magikland, in Penafiel

This is the closest park to Invicta, which is about 30 minutes away. Located in the municipality of Penafiel, Magikland is actually a theme park that combines leisure attractions with some aquatic equipment.
At Magikland there are several spaces, such as the “Medieval Village” or the “Pirates’ Refuge”, the latter of which is suitable for refreshing swims.

Fafe Water Park

Located about 45 minutes’ drive from Porto, the Fafe Water Park is another option for those looking for a fun-filled and, above all, refreshing destination.
The space has four swimming pools and 17 slides, for those who love to feel like a ‘fish in water’.
There are also rest areas, bars, restaurants and the chance to enjoy animal shows, such as birds of prey and reptiles.
