O projeto Metrobus foi apresentado, recentemente, na Casa da Música, pelo presidente da Câmara Municipal do Porto (CMP), Rui Moreira. As obras de construção arrancam já no início de fevereiro, começando pela Avenida da Boavista.
Depois, a empreitada segue para a Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa e, finalmente, em direção a Matosinhos. Com o Metrobus, o objetivo é que as viagens na linha Boavista-Praça do Império passem a durar 12 minutos. Já na segunda linha, Boavista-Anémona as previsões apontam para 17 minutos.
Qualquer projeto desta natureza levanta sempre problemas. Andamos a afiná-lo com o Metro, conseguindo, nomeadamente, uma solução mais amigável para contornar a Avenida da Boavista e apenas uma via dedicada na entrada da Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa”, explicou o autarca, Rui Moreira, citado pelo site de notícias da CMP, Rui Moreira
As principais novidades do Metrobus
No âmbito da apresentação do projeto Metrobus destacam-se algumas novidades, nomeadamente as seguintes:
- Introdução de uma ‘micro rotunda’ em frente à Casa da Música, que é necessária para que o autocarro a hidrogénio do Metrobus faça a mudança de sentido em 30 segundos;
- Serão plantadas mais árvores do que aquelas que, devido às obras de construção, possam vir a ser abatidas.
Autocarros ecológicos
Alimentados a hidrogénio, os veículos do Metrobus serão mais ecológicos, não produzindo emissões poluentes.
Neste contexto, pretende-se que este projeto seja um importante contributo para a neutralidade carbónica, em linha com as metas da Organização das Nações Unidas, em relação ao Pacto para o Clima.
Segundo o site da CMP, o projeto Metrobus representa um investimento total de 66 milhões de euros (financiados integralmente,a fundo perdido, através do Programa de Recuperação e Resiliência-PPR).
Além disso, prevê-se que as obras sejam executadas em 2023 e 2024, ano em que o novo modo de transporte deverá entrar em operação.
