Muito se tem vindo a falar ao longo dos anos sobre a ‘vida’ da nossa querida (e desativada) ponte D. Maria Pia. Qual a tua opinião?
A ponte D. Maria Pia foi inaugurada em 1877 e faz parte das famosas 6 pontes do Porto. Esta é (notoriamente) da autoria do Gabinete de Gustavo Eiffel – Eiffel Constructions Métalliques, e serviu a população até 1991, altura em que foi desativada e substituída pela ponte de São João.
Um estudo recente realizado pela empresa Vox Porto Sempre revelou agora que 73% dos inquiridos são a favor que esta seja desmantelada do local em que se encontra atualmente, mas que seja relocalizada bem no coração da cidade, assente em jardins/praças. Esta relocalização daria um novo propósito à fascinante ponte, que iria servia a população, e seus visitantes, como um incrível miradouro na cidade.

Esta proposta surgiu em 2013 e foi apresentada pela dupla de arquitetos portuenses Pedro Bandeira e Pedro Nuno Ramalho, num concurso público lançado pela Câmara do Porto. Este concurso foi lançado com o intuito de requalificar uma zona de Cedofeita. Contudo, este não foi o projeto vencedor, na altura.
Anos depois volta o debate e com a apresentação deste recente estudo abre-se uma nova discussão para o tema. Estará o Porto preparado para algo tão disruptivo?
