The sea will be rough off the coast of Porto. The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow warning for the district due to rough seas on Friday, October 23, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Waves of 4 to 5 meters, coming from the northwest, are expected, according to Lusa, as cited by Observador.
Six districts under warning
In addition to Porto, the advisory covers Viana do Castelo, Braga, Aveiro, Coimbra, and Leiria. The yellow advisory is the lowest of the three warning levels and indicates that weather conditions may pose a risk to certain activities, according to the IPMA, as cited by Lusa.

In the case of the sea, this warning is issued when the significant wave height is between 4 and 5 meters, according to IPMA criteria. Above 5 meters, the warning rises to orange; in other words, the highest waves forecast for Friday fall right on the boundary between yellow and orange.
And on land?
This Thursday, rain is expected to reach the coast north of Cabo Mondego by mid-afternoon, according to Lusa. For Friday, Rádio Regional forecasts an improvement in the Porto district, with little chance of rain and temperatures ranging from 10 °C to 17 °C.
