If you usually use transport in the Porto Metropolitan Area, then there’s something new waiting for you. After the Anda app enabled cell phone charging last year, there will soon be a new alternative.
According to Jornal de Notícias (JN), as of Saturday, February 15, it will be possible to charge the Andante – monthly pass or occasional trips via the Via Verde app.
To do this, “users of the Via Verde app just have to hold their Andante cards against the back of their cell phone and select the number of journeys or the pass they want to top up”, reads the JN, which quotes a statement from the company.
The new feature is completely free and available on Android and iOS. All customers have to do is access the free plan, called Via Verde Cidade, available on the official website.
In this way, users of public transport in the Porto Metropolitan Area will be able to load Andante passes and tickets for single, occasional and 24-year journeys, which allow travel on the metro, buses and trains.
