The festive season is almost over, but there are still ice rinks where you can ‘slide’ to your heart’s content.

After all, who said you needed to go to Serra da Estrela or Viseu on purpose to go ice skating? In Greater Porto, you’ll find some options for literally skating.

Ice skating in Maia

After Invicta, how about a trip to nearby Maia? This year, the municipality of Maia has prepared rigorously to welcome the most magical time of the year, with various attractions.

There, you’ll find lots of Christmas lights, a Parisian carousel, a train, Santa’s House, a “Christmas Market” and, of course, one of the best ice rinks near Porto. All animations are free of charge.

Near the “biggest Christmas tree”

In the municipality of Valongo, more specifically in Ermesinde, you can find one of the biggest tourist attractions of this season, namely the “Largest Christmas Tree in Portugal”, which is over 50 meters high.

As well as this, Christmas 2025 offers other entertainment, specifically an ice rink in Ermesinde , where you can practice your skating skills.
