This year, for the first time, Portugal was entitled to hold its own Michelin Guide Gala in Albufeira. However, there is already news about the next edition of the ceremony. Now, it’s time for the event to head to Invicta, where it will take place at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Center on February 25, 2025.
The news was announced this Thursday, September 26, at a press conference at the Cruise Terminal in Matosinhos. The 2nd edition of the Michelin Guide Portugal Gala has the support of Turismo de Portugal and Turismo do Porto e Norte.
The event’s gastronomic coordinators will be three ‘heavyweights’ of cuisine in Porto and the Northern region, as they all have two Michelin Stars:
- Rui Paula, from Casa de Chá da Boa Nova
- Vítor Matos, chef at Antiqvvm
- Ricardo Costa, chef at The Yeatman restaurant
It should be noted that Porto and the North is the region with the highest number of restaurants in the Michelin Guide Portugal, with a total of 50. So this news is a kind of reaffirmation of this part of the country as a gastronomic destination of choice.
According to Expresso, in addition to the ceremony to be held at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Center, initiatives are planned in the cities of Braga and Bragança, although no further details are known as yet.
