For an entire month, between June and July, Praça de D. João I will be transformed into a Fan Zone with live broadcasts of the 2026 World Cup matches. It’s the perfect place to watch Portugal play for free, thanks to the Porto City Council and the Portuguese Football Federation, which have formed a partnership resulting in an official Fan Zone located in the city center featuring a giant screen.
As the group stage unfolds, the venue will broadcast most of the tournament’s matches. Portugal will make its debut against Congo on June 17 at 6:00 p.m. Then, on June 23, they’ll face Uzbekistan, also at 6:00 p.m. Portugal’s final group stage match is against Colombia in the early hours of June 28 at 12:30 a.m.
The national team’s matches will also be shown on a screen on Avenida dos Aliados, the same location that will host theSão João festivities . The broadcastschedule for the knockout rounds (round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and final) will be confirmed at a later date, as it depends on the results of the group stage.
