If you often use public transport, pay attention. There is a strike on the Metro do Porto between December 17 and 22, for a total of six days.
The situation is the result of a strike called by the National Union of Portuguese Railway Train Drivers (SMAQ). For this reason, Metro do Porto’ s operations will be affected, with journeys canceled and changes to the usual timetables.
According to information on the official Metro do Porto website, the weekend before Christmas will be the most affected. It is therefore important to be prepared for possible disruptions during this festive period.
According to the same source, on the Yellow Line (D), the intervals between trains are, on average, six minutes on weekdays and ten minutes at weekends.
On the common stretch between Senhora da Hora and Estádio do Dragão, the frequencies are four minutes on weekdays and six minutes at weekends.
