If you usually take public transport, pay attention. Metro do Porto traffic will be restricted this weekend, from 10 p.m. on April 12 (Saturday) until 1 p.m. the following day (Sunday), between Senhora da Hora and Trindade stations .
According to information on the Metro do Porto website, both of the above-mentioned lines will remain in operation, but will be conditioned during the specified hours. In fact, almost all lines will be affected, with the exception of the Yellow line (D).
What are the reasons for this?
According to the same source, this situation is due to a technical intervention related to the progress of the Pink Line (G).
In order to minimize the possible constraints, an alternative transport service has been set up with the Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto (STCP).
This means that STCP buses will circulate in the areas close to the stations affected by the Metro’s traffic restrictions, namely: Sete Bicas, Viso, Ramalde, Francos, Casa da Música, Carolina Michaelis and Lapa.
Therefore, buses will provide connections to Senhora da Hora and Trindade, with running times that can vary between seven minutes (from 8.30pm to 1.30am and from 9.30am to 2.19pm) and ten minutes (between 6am and 9.25am).
It should be noted that the stops at Francos, Ramalde and Viso will be 21 minutes apart. For more detailed information you can consult the official Metro do Portowebsite.
