Anyone who has already put away their summer clothes will still need them. For Porto, the IPMA forecast released on Thursday called for 23 °C this Friday, October 9, and on Saturday, and for highs of 21 °C on Sunday and Monday, with no chance of rain on any of those days. In October, the average high in the city is 20.7 °C, according to the institute’s climate norms for the Porto/Pedras Rubras station (1991–2020).
Through Monday, day by day
Forecasts by the IPMA for Porto, always subject to minor adjustments:
Friday, October 9: between 14 °C and 23 °C, mostly clear
Saturday, October 10: between 13 °C and 23 °C, few clouds
Sunday, October 11: between 13 °C and 21 °C, partly cloudy
Monday, October 12: between 14 °C and 21 °C, partly cloudy
The weekend will therefore start with warmer temperatures, and only on Sunday will the highs drop to near seasonal averages.

A dry week in the North
The trend toward above-average temperatures is expected to continue. Meteored analyzed the forecasts from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) for the week of October 12–19 and indicates that average temperatures will be 1 °C to 3 °C above normal across virtually the entire mainland. The lack of rain, it adds, is expected to be most noticeable in the North and Central regions.
Near the coast, however, the effect is less pronounced. On Monday afternoon, according to the same source, the increase above normal is much smaller along the northern coast, where temperatures in some areas are expected to be close to seasonal averages, while inland, in areas such as Bragança and Vila Real, the difference may be around 5 °C. The forecast is still several days away, so the figures may be updated.
