The Rivoli Theatre is one of Porto’s most emblematic venues and celebrated its 93rd anniversary this Wednesday, January 23rd. However, it’s still more than time to join in the festivities, as there’s a program full of free activities until Sunday (January 26) .
According to information on the Ágora municipal company’swebsite, Rivoli is opening its doors to the community:
To turn the house upside down, travel to the zero point of humanity and march without stopping,” reads the website cited.
Highlights of the Rivoli Theater party
As we mentioned, although the festivities began on January 23rd, you still have the whole weekend to enjoy the Rivoli Theatre’s special program.
In this context, one of the highlights is the national premiere of “Madrigals”, by Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe, scheduled for this Friday, the 24th, and Saturday, the 25th, at 9:30 p.m. in the Grand Auditorium.
For younger audiences, “Casio Tone Reprise” is the big bet, with sessions from January 23 to 25, at 10:30 on the first two days and on Sunday at 16:00.
“The Complete National Anthems of the World” allows the public to move around, in and out. The durational play is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, the 25th and 25th, in the Carlos Azeredo Mesquita Rehearsal Room.
To finish on a high note, there’s a party, with free admission, by Pedro Coquenão, who will be performing as Batida DJ at the TMP Café, from 11.30pm to 1am on Sunday morning.
It’s worth noting that admission is free, but tickets must be picked up on the day of the sessions, from 10am, at the Teatro Municipal do Porto or online here.
