Mainland Portugal woke up on Wednesday, January 28, to the devastating effects of the Kristin depression. Two confirmed fatalities, fallen trees, homes without electricity, and suspended train service are some of the consequences reported.
According to Euronews, a source from the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) told Lusa that between midnight and 8 a.m., Civil Protection was called to respond to around 1,500 incidents, and this number may still rise.
Suspension of trains between Porto and Lisbon

According to the officialwebsite of CP – Comboios de Portugal, traffic on the Northern Line between Porto and Lisbon for long-distance and regional trains is temporarily suspended.
However, this is not the only disruption, as service is also suspended on the “Douro Line – between Régua and Tua, the Beira Alta and Beira Baixa Lines, the Southern Line, the Western Line, and the Sintra/Azambuja Line: Alverca/Sintra Family.”
