Outubro tem sido um mês fora do comum no que à ocorrência de fenómenos astronómicos diz respeito. Depois do avistamento de mais uma aurora boreal nos céus de Portugal e da passagem do “cometa do século”, vem aí mais um acontecimento para quem gosta de contemplar o firmamento: a Superlua do Caçador.
Segundo o site especializado “Star Walk”, esta lua cheia ficará visível a partir desta quinta-feira, 17 de outubro. Além disso, é considerada a maior de 2024. Mas, por que motivo?
Pois, a lua aproximar-se-á da Terra o mais próximo possível. No momento do perigeu, a distância entre eles será de 357,364 km (para comparação, a distância média entre a Terra e a Lua é de 384,400 km)”, lê-se na fonte acima citada.
Por que motivo se chama Superlua do Caçador?
Esta designação terá sido atribuída por civilizações antigas que aproveitavam esta altura do ano para caçar. No entanto, este não é o único nome pelo qual é conhecida a lua cheia de outubro.
Segundo algumas fontes, há outras designações alternativas. Por exemplo, Lua da Semente (África do Sul), ou Lua Gentil (China), entre outras.
Quando é possível observar outra Superlua?
A próxima e última Superlua do ano deve chegar no dia 15 de novembro, sendo conhecida como a Lua do Castor. Mais um motivo para olhar para o céu!
