As Halloween approaches , one of our favorite things to do is watch horror movies. Alone or together, this is an (almost) obligatory program. You can stay at home or party with friends thanks to the many plans out there, but you can’t forget to watch one of these Halloween movies.
For those who like haunted house stories and more, here’s our list of some of the greatest horror movie classics. What’s more, some of them are available to watch on streaming platforms.
Table Of Contents
“The Nun: The Damned Nun” (2018)
This movie is literally chilling from start to finish. In “The Nun: The Damned Nun” the story takes us to Romania in the 1950s, where a priest and a nun have been sent to investigate an intriguing death in a monastery.
When they arrive, they quickly realize that there is a sinister aura in the air, and later discover that the place is haunted by a demonic entity.
“The Ring (2002)
Directed by Gore Verbinski, “The Ring – The Warning” is not recommended for the most ‘frightened’. It’s a movie capable of making anyone’ s hair stand on end.
The plot centers on a journalist who decides to investigate a mysterious videotape, which is apparently responsible for causing the death of anyone who has seen it.
“Verónica” (2017)
This movie takes us straight across the border, specifically to Madrid in the early 90s.
Available in the Netflix catalog, the plot is inspired by a true story, including images from the “Vallecas” case, which shocked the Spanish capital.
In the movie, a 15-year-old teenager, who is looking after her three younger siblings, decides to ‘play’ with a Ouija she finds in her school. From then on, nothing will ever be the same.
“The Evocation” (2013)
The production centers on two world-renowned paranormal investigators who have been hired to investigate supernatural phenomena haunting the Perron family, residents of the small, isolated town of Harrisville.
“Psycho (1960)
Psycho is considered a movie classic, not just when we think of horror and suspense films.
“Hellraiser (1987)
Another classic of trash cinema, Hellraiser is a mix of horror and dystopia. It may not be as scary today, but imagine those effects in the 80s.
“Chucky – The Killer Toy” (1988)
A children’s doll is possessed by a serial killer in an attempt to survive a police raid. This feature film became a cult movie.
“Gremlins” (1984)
This is one of our favorites and it’s a horror comedy, which also became a cult film because of its main characters, the Mogwais. The Mogwais are friendly little animals who should never be fed after midnight.
“The Shining (1980)
The horror of terrors, in our opinion. Jack gets carried away by the supernatural presence in the hotel where he works and tries to murder his wife and son.
“Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1993)
This adaptation of the literary classic became one of Francis Ford Coppola’s best-known films. It’s undoubtedly the face of Halloween, with pop culture’s most famous vampire.
What do you think of these Halloween movies? Do you dare?
