Do you usually use the buses of the Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto (STCP)? Then this news is for you! Between February 16 and 18, the operation will be adjusted to coincide with the Carnival festivities , when there is a school break.
In this regard, the bus network will operate on special schedules, returning to ‘normal’ on February 19.
STCP timetables during Carnival

- February 16 (Monday): buses will operate according to the “School Holidays” schedule
- February 17 (Tuesday): all lines will follow the “Sundays and Holidays” schedule
- February 18 (Wednesday): buses will operate according to the “School Holidays” schedule, with the exception of lines serving the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia (lines 900), which will maintain their usual schedule.
To avoid any inconvenience, we recommend consulting the official STCP website.
Contactless payments

Since the end of January, anyone traveling on STCP buses can pay for their ticket directly with a bank card, cell phone, or smartwatch via contactless payment , without the need for coins.
The solution is available throughout the fleet, with a TPA next to the driver, and applies to the single ticket costing €2.50, not replacing Andante monthly passes.
In this way, STCP speeds up boarding, reduces waiting times, and promotes a more secure payment system that is less dependent on physical money, taking an important step in the modernization and digitization of mobility in the city.
