Batucada Radical Carnival Parade
Since 2019, the Batucada Radical Carnival Parade has filled the streets of Porto with lots of music and entertainment. This year, approximately ten thousand participants are expected and the fun will last longer, from two to six hours.
The parade will set off from Rua do Heroísmo at 1pm, passing through Avenida de Rodrigues Freitas, Rua de São Vítor and Praça da Alegria, ending at Alameda das Fontaínhas at around 7pm on March 2 (known as Domingo Gordo).
Masquerade parade and themed tour at the Electric Car Museum
The Electric Car Museum is organizing a special Carnival activity on March 1, ideal for families with children.
Between 10.30am and 12.30pm, participants will be able to create personalized masks with various accessories provided by the museum.
The experience culminates with a themed trip aboard a historic streetcar along the banks of the River Douro.
Pre-registration is required until 5pm on February 27, with prices starting at €15 for two people.
Carnival in Porto Pub Crawl
To get the Carnival in Porto off to a great start, how about a suggestion for those who love a good night out? With the Porto Carnival Pub Crawl you can have a great time on the night of March 3, from 9:15 to 3:15.
The meeting point is Praça Gomes Teixeira, next to the Fonte dos Leões. Afterwards, take the opportunity to meet other people,enjoy an hour of open bar, fun games and more… in short, “the night is young”! And don’t forget to dress up.
WOW Carnival
On the other side of the Douro River, in Vila Nova de Gaia, WOW has decided to prepare a series of fun activities for the long weekend. From March 1 to 4, there are special menus, music and dancing, visits and themed workshops.
In particular, on March 1 and 2, the atmosphere will heat up at WOW with vibrant Brazilian rhythms. The program includes live shows of samba and other musical styles, evening entertainment, a children’s area and a buffet. Tickets are on sale on the official website of Gaia’s cultural quarter.
Carnival at Zoo Santo Inácio
Zoo Santo Inácio, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, is the largest <shortcode data-tag=”trackLink” 0=”link_url=”https://portosecreto.co/jardins-e-parques-zoologicos-porto/”<strong>”>garden/zoo in the northern region, so a visit there is always worthwhile. But during Carnival, there are even more reasons.
From March 1 to 4, those who visit the zoo in costume are entitled to a 25% discount on admission. In addition, on March 3 and 4, various educational activities are planned to raise awareness of wildlife conservation.
