
After Christmas and Valentine’s Day, there’s another festival coming up. That is Carnival, which is being celebrated this year on March 4th. To mark the date with all the revelry the occasion deserves, on March 2, Fat Sunday, the Batucada Radical Carnival Parade will once again take to the streets of Porto.
For the 14th time in its history, what is considered the first Brazilian music block in Portugal promises to liven up the Invicta city even more. According to the Porto City Council website, it is estimated that around 10,000 people will take part in the parade .

What can I expect from this Carnival Parade?
This year, the event has something new, namely the extension of its duration. What does this mean? Well, instead of two hours, it will be six hours long, running from 1pm to 7pm.
In this context, more activities have been added to extend the party. So, the kick-off is the Children’s Carnival in front of the STOP Shopping Center.
This will be followed by the Batucada Radical parade from Rua do Heroísmo, through Avenida de Rodrigues Freitas, Rua de São Vítor and Praça da Alegria, ending at Alameda das Fontaínhas.
