
The Porto Photography Biennial is scheduled to return to the city from June 15 to 29 with free admission, promising to be a meeting point for those who appreciate art, culture and more.
According to a statement sent to Porto Secreto, the 4th edition will focus on the theme “Tomorrow Today” with the aim of artistically exploring the relationship between the actions of the present and the consequences of the future.
The Bienal Fotografia do Porto is taking place in some of the city’s most emblematic places, such as:
- Portuguese Center of Photography
- Rectory of the University of Porto
- Casa do Infante
- São Bento Metro Station
- Biodiversity Gallery
- Soares dos Reis National Museum
- Bad Habits
- Porto Municipal Gallery

Highlights of the Photography Biennale
The program of the 2025 edition includes a total of 16 exhibitions, 51 artists and 48 activities, one of the highlights of which is the exhibition “Luminófilos [Lightseekers]“, available at the Portuguese Center of Photography.
Curated by Sergio Valenzuela-Escobedo, “Luminófilos [Lightseekers]” explores light as a central element, through images captured in different environments such as the Amazon and the deserts of Western Asia.

“Rizomas”, by artist Joana Dionísio, at São Bento Metro Station, is another highlight of the cultural program, addressing human presence as a force for sustainability.
Also noteworthy is the exhibition “Vivificar”, at the Soares dos Reis National Museum, which focuses on the concepts of “living and staying”.
In addition to the exhibitions, the Biennale is promoting the Futures Meet-up event , from June 6 to 7, which includes a workshop and a round table at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, among other activities.
