In recent times, Invicta has been the target of several projects that promise to change the face of the city in the coming years. In this context, Porto City Council (CMP) has just announced the date for the start of work on another future emblematic space: the Feiródromo de Campanhã.
In a statement sent to the press, the municipality said that construction should begin on November 18th, with an estimated execution time of 180 days (around six months). This marks another important step in the development of the eastern part of the city.
What will the Campanhã Fairground be like?
This infrastructure is intended to hold Porto’s most emblematic fairs, such as the traditional Vandoma and Cerco.
Located near the Nasoni metro station, it will have some of the following features:
- Capacity for 152 stalls
- Sanitary facilities
- Public lighting
- Essential infrastructures such as electricity, water supply, urban solid waste management systems, etc.
Boosting trade (and more)
In this context, the aim is not only to build a large and suitable venue for fairs, but also to boost the commercial and social health of the eastern part of Porto.
With the creation of the Feiródromo, the area gains a new pole of attraction for residents, traders and tourists, creating an environment conducive to the promotion of good commercial practices and encouraging the growth of new economic agents,” reads the press release.
