If you’re looking for a unique pizza in Porto, the Bom Sucesso Market in Boavista has a new spot for you to try. Angry Box has opened its doors and serves Detroit-style pizzas: thick, fluffy crust, fermented for two days, with caramelized cheese that’s crispy around the edges.
11 pizzas, including savory, specialty, and sweet varieties
The menu combines classics with more creative combinations. Among the base options, the Tomato & Pesto features tomato sauce, homemade fresh basil pesto, and a blend of cheeses. The Creamy Garlic has a creamy base of garlic confit, cheese, fleur de sel, pink pepper, and a drizzle of honey.
For more intense flavors: the Truffle Shrooms combines sautéed mushrooms, a blend of cheeses, and homemade truffle sauce. The Tuna & Mayo features shredded tuna, red onion, and olives, topped with garlic mayonnaise and crispy onions.
Special offerings include the Honey Pepperoni, featuring Italian pepperoni and honey, balanced with a hint of spice. The 4 Formaggios+ combines creamy Camembert, mild Gorgonzola DOP, and Parmesan. The Chicken & Cheese combines diced chicken, Camembert, and Parmesan. The most unexpected is the Sweet Smoked Shrimp, with seasoned shrimp, smoked bacon, and pineapple, finished with a drizzle of honey.
Choose your own toppings and sauces: you can customize your pizza with crispy onions, Parmesan, bacon, chicken, Camembert, Gorgonzola, pesto, or truffle sauce, among others. On the side, there are dipping sauces made with tomato, Ranch, garlic mayo, pesto, honey, or truffles. If you’re looking to end your meal on a sweet note, there are options featuring Oreo brigadeiro, dulce de leche, and hazelnut cream.
The pizzas are available in small and large sizes, with prices ranging from €9.90 to €21.50, depending on the combination.
A market with 40 restaurants and shops

Opened in 1952, the Bom Sucesso Market is located next to the Boavista Roundabout, near the Casa da Música. It brings together about 40 restaurants and shops, offering traditional dishes such as francesinha, pataniscas, roasted cod with cornbread, and suckling pig, alongside sushi, fresh pastas, focaccias, convent-style sweets, and artisanal ice cream. The building also houses the Hotel da Música and the Manuel António da Mota Foundation, the market’s partner in cultural programming. With Angry Box, the market’s pizza offerings take on a new twist.
