Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is becoming more and more important internationally, with a wider range of tourist destinations. For example, Ryanair recently announced new routes to Gothenburg (Sweden) and Warsaw (Poland). However, there is now another airline operating in Porto with direct flights to Prague.
Smartwings, the Czech flag carrier, has been flying between the two cities since October 23. According to various media reports, the flights between Porto and Prague will operate twice a week (on Thursdays and Sundays). The new Porto-Prague route marks the Czech airline’s debut in the north of Portugal.

However, Smartwings was already operating in other Portuguese destinations: in Madeira with a daily connection between Funchal and Prague in the summer and four times a week in the winter. But also in Ponta Delgada (São Miguel, Azores archipelago) with a direct route between March and October three times a week.
Tickets for the direct flights between Porto and Prague are on sale on the Czech company’s official website with prices starting at €120. easyJet is another option to consider, as it also provides connections between the two cities, offering travelers more flexibility.
