What you need to know about the Douro Historic Train
The ride aboard the Douro Historic Train is practically a summer classic and one of the great tourist attractions this region. The start takes place in Régua at 3.30pm and returns at 6.26pm, with a stop in Pinhão.
The trip takes in the Douro Wine Region, a landscape classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, the cinematographic setting is not the only highlight, as the program involves a lot of animation to provide a real experience.
In this context, travelers must show up at least 30 minutes before departure time. There is a moment of welcome and reception with the offering of a chalice of port wine among other products.
At the Pinhão Station, one of the attractions is the famous tilesrepresenting, for example, the grape harvest and the transportation of Port wine in rabelo boats.
