From artisanal ice cream to Halloween Jack-o’-Lanterns, to container permaculture and Christmas card printing: Bolhão Market has a schedule tailored for families through December. The “Family Saturdays” series returns with a regular monthly program that is free and open to all, subject to space availability.
The first session takes place this coming Saturday, August 29, with an Ice Cream Rolls Workshop led by Zé Badio, an artisanal ice cream shop. Activities always take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
What’s planned through the end of the year?

On September 26, the theme is Sustainability and Urban Gardens, featuring a container permaculture workshop led by Hortas LX.
On October 31, PAZ – Performance Arts Zone will lead a Jack-o’-Lantern Workshop to celebrate Halloween. November brings a Christmas Card Engraving Workshop on the 28th with ACASO Creative Atelier. The series wraps up on December 26, already in the holiday spirit, with a Sound Toy Workshop led by Zuca Truc.
The initiative establishes Bolhão as an intergenerational gathering place in the heart of Porto—not just a commercial space, but also a place for shared experiences and learning. The full schedule is available on the Bolhão Market’s officialwebsite.
