Want to sail aboard a pirate ship? Or enter a ‘haunted castle’? The best part is that you don’t need to get on a plane, or even leave the Porto district , to ‘dive’ into a magical world of fun and fantasy. Just a 40-minute drive from Porto lies Magikland, yet another reason to visit Penafiel.
Open since late March, Magikland is the ideal destination for those looking for family activities without straying too far from the city of Porto. With various carousels and a magic mountain, in the summer this theme park is also synonymous with dips in its pools and smiles for all ages.
A journey through six worlds

Covering about 7 hectares, Magikland is not just an amusement park; it is a space that comes to life through various forms and themes, allowing visitors to travel through six different worlds without leaving Penafiel:
- Africa: climb aboard the Dakar “trucks” for an unmissable safari, fly over the savanna in small planes, or “splash” at Magik Splash
- World of Confusion: take a stroll to Paris and “explore” the streets of the French capital, without forgetting to take photos with a miniature Eiffel Tower
- Medieval Village: a return to the past of kings and princesses, sure to delight fans of fairy tales
- Pirates’ Refuge: experience the thrill of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” saga live and in color on a ship rising from the lagoons
- Far West: feel like you’re in the authentic American “Old West” and let your heart race on the iconic roller coaster
- Souk: a vibrant Arab market, ready to host special occasions such as birthday parties.
Pools and slides at Magikland

When the heat is on, Penafiel’stheme park offers a solution, thanks to its pools and slides: a 10-meter slide for children and an 80-meter slide for adults to experience the adrenaline rush firsthand.
In addition to the rides, you can also grab a bite to eat at Magikland, as the park features several bars, a self-service area, and the tempting (but delicious) Cantinho das Guloseimas.
How much does this experience cost?

According to the theme park’s official website, these are the updated individual prices for 2026:
- Free admission for children under 2
- Children ages 3 to 12 pay €14
- From ages 13 to 64, the price is €22.50
- For those aged 65 to 75, the ticket costs €17
- And seniors over 75 get in free.
How to get there from Porto?

The distance between Porto (depending on your starting point) and Magikland is approximately 40 km, with the car trip being the fastest and most comfortable option. In this case, one option is to take the A4 and exit at the Penafiel Sul sign.
However, if you’d rather save on gas, you can take the Porto urban train to Penafiel. But keep in mind: the theme park is still too far to walk —so consider hailing a taxi or TVDE for the final stretch of the journey.
