On the one hand, there are those who prefer the beaches. On the other hand, there are those who favor river beaches and waterfalls. But how about a tour of the best pools around Porto?
If you’re looking for refreshing options for your weekends or vacation, then you’ll like this list. We know that a getaway always tastes good, but it’s also possible to make the most of the summer without going too far.
Pay attention to our suggestions, but make sure you’re well-informed before you leave the house, especially regarding the distances, since all of them are outside the city center of Porto. Works signed by award-winning architects, or surrounded by lush gardens, with sea views, or salt water... These are some of the best pools around Porto.

Piscina das Marés
With salt water and an impressive view of the Atlantic, the Piscina das Marés is one of the most beautiful pools not only in Porto, but in the whole country.
Located less than 20 minutes from Porto, in Leça da Palmeira, in the municipality of Matosinhos the Piscina das Marés stands out not only for its summer charms, but also for its architecture, since it was designed by the famous architect Siza Vieira.
Classified as a National Monument, the Piscina das Marés has the following prices:
- Children (2-13 years): 5.50€ from Monday to Friday; 6€ on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays;
- Adults and young people (+13 years): 8€ from Monday to Friday; 10€ on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
- The prices shown above correspond to a full day’s stay at . However, there are other values to apply when it’s only half a day.

Solário Atlântico
Located in Espinho, the Solário Atlântico swimming pool is fed directly by sea water.
Open to the public during the bathing season, this infrastructure was designed by architects Eduardo Martins and Manuel Passos.
Set in a dream setting, the Solário Atlântico swimming pool is an excellent alternative for those looking to escape the sand and the heat.

Quinta da Conceição swimming pool
The Quinta da Conceição swimming pool is another of the incredible places worth visiting in the municipality of Matosinhos.
Located in Leça da Palmeira, this pool was also designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Siza Vieira.
For those who like quieter places, this is a good option. In addition, the surrounding gardens make the setting even more relaxing , making this one of the coolest pools near Porto.

Piscina Verde
Another pool on the outskirts of Porto that you should consider for your summer is, without a doubt, Piscina Verde. Located just over 30 minutes by car from Porto, this is an excellent reason to go to Paredes.
Set in the green surroundings of the local City Park, the Piscina Verde has eight lanes and a children’s pool, a support bar, sun loungers, parasols and surveillance.

Granja
For those who don’t need sand, swimming pools are an excellent option. Another option to consider is the Granja Municipal Swimming Pool, which belongs to the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia.
Located in front of Praia da Granja, this municipal complex includes two swimming pools, one indoor and one outdoor.

And a bonus… Heated swimming pool
This suggestion promises to please especially the kids back home. Even so, the older ones may want to join in and go for a swim in a heated pool. Located in Canidelo, at Praia de Canide Norte, entry is completely free.
Overlooking the sea, this pool is 20 by 25 meters and has a maximum depth of one meter. However, it’s not the size that distinguishes it, but the temperature, which is around 28 and 29 degrees. Also, be prepared to wait in line for a while!
