Outdoor pools at Quinta do Passal in Valongo
Located just a few minutes from Porto, the Quinta do Passal swimming pool in Valongo recently opened and offers more than 5500 m² of space for leisure and diving.
The complex includes two swimming pools (one for children), lawn areas, a cafeteria, changing rooms, as well as sun loungers and surveillance. With a capacity for 500 people and affordable prices, it is one of the new meeting points this summer in Greater Porto.

Tidal Pool
With salt water and an impressive view of the Atlantic, the Piscina das Marés is one of the most beautiful not only in Porto, but in the whole country.
Located less than 20 minutes from Porto, in Leça da Palmeira, in the municipality of Matosinhos, the Piscina das Marés stands out not only for its summer charms, but also for its architecture, as it was designed by the famous architect Siza Vieira.
Classified as a National Monument, the Piscina das Marés has the following prices :
- Children (2-13 years): €5.50 from Monday to Friday; €6 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays;
- Adults and young people (13+): €8 from Monday to Friday; €10 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
The above prices correspond to a full day’ s use. However, there are other prices for half days.

Quinta da Conceição Swimming Pool
The Quinta da Conceição swimming pool is another of the incredible places worth visiting in the municipality of Matosinhos.
Located in Leça da Palmeira, this pool was also designed by the Pritzker Prize-winning architect Siza Vieira.
For those who like quieter places, this is a good option. What’s more, the surrounding gardens make the setting even more relaxing, making this one of the coolest pools near Porto.

Quinta da Gruta Swimming Pools
Located in the Quinta da Gruta Municipal Swimming Pool Complex, in the municipality of Maia, this is one of the most famous outdoor pools in the Porto Metropolitan Area.
The Quinta da Gruta Swimming Pools have a splash pool for babies, an area for children and another for adults, as well as several green spaces.
There is also a restaurant and a café on site, as well as two tennis courts for those who can’t do without a bit of exercise.
The Quinta da Gruta swimming pools will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. until September 14, 2025. Tickets can be bought online or at the Gueifães Municipal Swimming Pool Complex (they are not sold in person at Quinta da Gruta).

Green Swimming Pool
Another pool to consider in the Porto district is, without a doubt, Piscina Verde. Located about 30 minutes from Invicta, in the Paredes City Urban Park, this is a spot where you can spend an excellent summer afternoon.
Inaugurated in 2021, this pool is set in a beautiful green setting, with a bar, extensive lawns, changing rooms, a children’s pool and sun loungers. In all, it can accommodate 400 people.

Granja Swimming Pool
For those who don’t need sand, swimming pools are an excellent option. In Greater Porto, another option to consider is the Granja Municipal Swimming Pool, which belongs to the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia.
Located in front of Praia da Granja, this municipal complex includes two pools, one indoor and one outdoor.
