In the twinkling of an eye, one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the year is just around the corner. In other words, it’s time to celebrate Christmas with the family; a time full of hustle and bustle, not only at home, but also in Porto’s traffic.
For those Porto residents (and others) who regularly use public transport, it’s important to pay attention to the usual schedule adjustments on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (December 24 and 25). So, to make life easier for everyone, we’ve prepared a brief guide with practical tips.

Metro do Porto timetables

According to the Metro do Portowebsite, on December 24, the service will close at around 8pm , starting the next day (Christmas holiday) at 9am across the network.
In addition, we share in this article the timetables provided by Metro do Porto on all lines.

STCP Christmas timetable

The Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto (STCP) has prepared a special operation covering December 24 and 25, with the aim of adjusting its offer to the needs of the season.
According to the information published on its official website, these are the changes planned:
December 24 (Christmas Eve)
- Buses will operate on a “Saturday” timetable until 6.30pm, with vehicle collection starting from this time onwards
- The night period will be covered by lines 200, 204, 205, 305, 502, 600, 602, 700, 701, 702, 800, 801, 901, 903, 905, 906 and 907.
- The electric vehicles end their service at 5:30 p.m.
December 25th (Christmas Day)
- Buses will run with the “Sundays and public holidays” timetable
- Routes 200, 201, 204, 205, 207, 208 and 305 will start at 5. 30am and the rest at 7am.
- The night service will operate with all journeys, except the 2M; and the 3M will depart from Avenida dos Aliados (towards the airport) at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 a.m.
- The electric car service starts in the early afternoon
December 26th
- The entire network will operate with “Saturday” timetables
