In the summer, Porto’s cultural agenda takes on a new life with numerous free themed outdoor activities, such as the municipal program “Vizinhanças” (Neighbourhoods).
The initiative, promoted by Porto City Council through the municipal company Ágora, returns for its 4th edition between July 20 and August 31, promising to enliven seven of the city’s parks and gardens.
The program, designed with the whole family in mind, kicks off this Sunday, July 20, in Jardim de São Lázaro, between 10am and 7pm. But what can you find in general?
Music, theater, new circus, workshops, story times and lots of games are just some of the activities for all ages offered by the “Neighbourhoods” program.

- July 20, Jardim de São Lázaro: with a children’s show by the IZINBADA company and a concert by The Dixie Boys
- July 27, Parque de São Roque: with Pedro Tochas and Memória de Peixe
- August 3, Jardim do Cálem: new circus show by Cie Maite Guevara and a performance by Clube de Choro do Porto
- August 10, Jardim de Sarah Afonso: performance by the G Combo group and performance by Kaio Apolinário, in partnership with INAC
- August 17, Alameda de Eça de Queirós: music by the group Garajau and a performance by the artist Felipe Algo
- August 24, Jardim do Passeio Alegre: philharmonic picnic with the Banda Marcial da Foz do Douro and the Banda Musical da Póvoa de Varzim
- August 31, Jardim d’Arca de Água: with a concert by Francisco Primeiro and a show by the Beatvoice group
3 activities that are always repeated
According to the press release sent to Porto Secreto, there are three activities that will be repeated every weekend:
- Workshop to build an ecogaivota (between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.)
- Hélder’s games (from 10 a.m. to noon and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.)
- Radio Jardim entertainment (between 10am and 6pm).
