Three, two, one… in the blink of an eye we’re already counting down to the last night of 2025, on December 31st. And New Year’s Eve in Porto promises lots of entertainment, music, fireworks and an audiovisual show.
In a statement sent to Porto Secreto, Porto City Council (CMP) said that Avenida dos Aliados will be the epicenter of the party to bid farewell to 2025 and welcome 2026. For this purpose, the program features big names such as Clã and one of the artists of the moment: Nininho Vaz Maia.
The New Year’s Eve concerts
In this free event , the kick-off will be given at 10pm by Clã, a band from Invicta with a career spanning over 30 years and responsible for hits such as “Problema de Expressão” and “O Sopro do Coração”.
Shortly after midnight, one of the hottest artists in Portuguese music will take to the stage on Avenida dos Aliados. More specifically, at 00:30, Nininho Vaz Maia promises to entertain everyone with his energy and style that combines flamenco, pop and gypsy tradition.
For those who decide to pass through the heart of Porto, it’s possible to revisit some of his greatest hits from albums such as “Raízes” (2021) and “Aparentemente vol.1” (2023).
To end the night on a high note, the CMP program also includes a DJ set by Beatbombers, the duo formed by DJ Ride and Stereossauro, with the performance starting at 2am.
Fireworks and audiovisual show
Between the concerts, one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the New Year’s Eve party kicks off a few minutes before midnight. In other words, we’re talking about the traditional fireworks and a multimedia show.
Conceived by Grandpa’s Studio, “Fluxo” combines video, light and sound to represent the passage of time and continuous transformation, “which is inspired by the movement of a river, from birth, through its course and finally finding the sea”.
New Year’s Concert
After a long night with entertainment until dawn, the New Year begins with the traditional concert by the Portuguese Symphonic Band, starting at 4pm on Avenida dos Aliados.
