With the lights coming on in Porto, it’s official – we’re on our way to Christmas Eve. Until then, there’s plenty to enjoy, such as ice rinks, markets and more. But how about a visit to Santa Claus of the Oceans?
From December 7 to 24, SEA LIFE Porto, the largest aquarium in the North of Portugal, will host a visit from the world’s most famous ‘white-bearded old man’. What’s more, this year brings a very special challenge for the little ones.
Santa Claus of the Oceans among sharks and more
As in previous editions, Santa Claus will once again dive into SEA LIFE Porto’s main tank, bringing important advice on the conservation of the ‘Seven Seas’.
In addition, this year children up to the age of 12 will be challenged to let their imagination run wild and draw something related to the idea of a more sustainable Christmas.
Drawing competition
SEA LIFE Porto has announced a drawing competition for children, with submissions open from December 1st to 8th. The drawings must follow the theme of protecting the oceans and marine species, showing ways to celebrate the festive season in a more sustainable way, and must include Santa Claus of the Oceans in his blue suit.
After submission, SEA LIFE Porto will select ten drawings to be displayed in the aquarium until January. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite drawings between December 10 and 15, and the three winners will be announced on December 16.
Times to visit Santa Claus
As for visits to Santa Claus of the Oceans, the aquarium informs that he will be present at 4pm on December 7, 8, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 and 23, and at 12.30pm on December 24.
